Pectoral Fins

I just came back from my LFS today with a beautiful Misbar Maroon Clown that I had them holding for me and I just noticed that it has no pectoral fins. Is this normal? I wouldn't think it would be. He seems to be just fine he is swimming around and all. I haven't fed yet since I just got him so I don't know if hes eating or not. I just want to make sure this guy is gonna be ok.

Can you post a pic? Are there bite marks or does he just have his fins clamped? They all have pectoral fins.

their supposed to have pec fins.
Your statement of "the fish is swimming normal" suggest he has pec fins (since fish use them to stablize their movement), they maybe really clear or small.
Misbaring should not result in no pec fins, unless the breeder didn't cull.

Wow--
it does look like its missing pelvic fins? are they just clamped tight?
"Culling"-- is the purposeful removing of poor genetics and developmental mutations from a population. In the wild, animals that are malformed or posses poor genetic traits are normally removed thru darwinianism, however, since there is no predation in aquaculture, the fishbreeder is responsible

Thanks FMarini...that makes a little more sense.

He swims just fine...Not wobbly like a normal clown though. Although when I fed him today he swam pretty fast at the food (probably not fed too much at the LFS) but he seems like he will be fine. Especially since I am going with a very timid stock list. (shrimp goby, firefish, maroon, kole tang, etc.)
BTW...FMarini no they are not clamped tight he doesn't have them and shows no signs of ever having them. No scars, stubs, etc.
