pendat vs hood?

Alright,
Looks like im gonna turn my 90 into my reef. So I have options to figure out my lighting. Those of you running pendants, what do you cover the tank with? Anything?
I could go with a hood, but then I would have to build it, and I'm really too busy with the new house we just bought to also do that. I'd rather just go with a couple MH 250 W pendants and suspend them from the ceiling along with the 110 w PC I have as well.
Thoughts on one vs the other?

On a smaller tank like your 90,,it is sometimes better,,,not to mention easier,,,to simply hang pendants.
Plus on your 90,twin 250's in a canopy will literally boil the water.
Hanging them eliminates this problem.

Alright then, looks like I'll work on building a hood to hang over the tank. As far as covering the tank itself, that normally done? Or do most people just leave it open like the stores do?
