people with bikes

ok my husband leaves this weekend for iraq, he'll be gone for 9 months. i plan on cranking his bike a few days a week and letting it run for a little bit. he just has the normal kickstand that makes it sit at an angle. we just found out im pregnant and i just dont see me at 7 or 8 months along holding the bike up to start it. so is it ok to let it sit on the kickstand at the angle and let it run, we've heard its bad. any advice?

its fine. Ive had 3 bikes and I always start them on the kick and let them warm up while Im suiting up.
I dont know about it being bad but you are just turning it over, not letting it sit there for a day running so shouldnt be any problem :)

Yep, no prob running them on thier stand.
I would let it run and come up to temp. No need to drive or move it, but bring it up tp temp to let everything get a chance to play.

what kind of bike?
if your storing it indoors and it was properly prepped for storage (ie: new oil and fuel stabilizer) you shouldn't need to start it more than once a month or so.

Im sure you are aware of this but I will say it anyway. Do not run the bike inside an enclosed garage. Carbon Monoxide can be deadly. I never ceases to amaze me how many senseless deaths happen due to people running generators, using grills indoors,etc.etc.

You might want to get a battery tender for it. They are pretty cheap and it will keep the battery charged.
