Peppermint Shrimp question...

Just wondering - i caught one of my shrimp at the top of the tank last night! i have a alge scraper (magnetic) in the tank all the time, and keep it at the top, turned sideways so it kinda hides a little better. anyway- the pep shirmp was underneath it upside down eating stuff off of it--- i just thought it was strange- did not know they woudl swim up to the top of the tank like that. i shined the light to get a better look, and he zipped right back under the rocks...
has anyone else sene their peppermint shrimp swim that close to the top of the tank?

Normally at night....but I've seen both of my peppermints in numerous spots munching....sometimes during feeding they'll come to the top and feed right from the turkeybaster..........never know where they'll show up after dark.....*_^

Yesterday i had to get both of my peppermint shrimp out of my sump because they went to the top and got sucked in. Fortunately they are both fine.
