I'm thinking about getting some clowns and am curious if you can house percs and clarkiis together. I know you can house percs together and clarkiis together, respectively. But should there be any feuding between the different familys?

Normally it is a big no no, to mix different types of clowns... but, I currently have a percula who is about 2-3" and an African clown who is 4-5". The African clown (who looks almost identical to a clarkii) lives in a BTA and the percula is all over the tank. I added the bigger clown 2nd which I'm sure helped...... I can't recommend it, but so far so good....(2 months together now).

Clarkiis and perculas have sort of the same attitudes and will fight till someone or all die . On the other hand , I have kept a single Clarkii with two Ocellaris in a 55 . With a few exceptions , you should never mix clown species .

I had a clarkii & he was in my sebea he loved that thing, even fed it. Later I got a perc they got along just great for a long time & the clarkii, as strange as it may seam, was always trying to get the perc into the sebae. The perc had nothing to do with it but as time went on it got closer & closer to the sebae then one day he went in. A SHORT time later the clarkii got really agressive to the perc & I had to remove the clarkii, it got that bad that fast it was like overnight!!!! Found clarkii a good home & I still have my perc, sebae & added another perc. So I would strongly recomend against it. I know some will say it works, but sooner or later it will happen. I was lucky I seen it start & put a stop to it by removing one. If know one is around to see it start, it may get ugly in a hurry! Hope that helps.
