Percula Clowns Swimming in Place?

that is what I am trying to do. I don't think you can get good enough lights with the fixture your tank probably came with. You would have to get a whole new fixture. You can see if it likes different foods. Your clownfish doesn't need a friend. You can have just one clwn, it is just an option to have two. Perhaps you can try a variety of food. which is actually healthier for your fish in the long run.

what kind of lights do you have? i am looking for new ones, and wondering what other bowfront owners have

I bought a fixture from Lowes, gutted it, and put in my own retrofit Power Compact lights. I have 6x65watts (390 watts) and 5 blue led moon lights. 4 of the lights are 50/50 bulbs and 2 are true actinics. I'm getting a little warm and will probably have to buy a chiller.

Last night my clowns swam all over the tank right after lights out. But this morning I found the male dead.
He had torn fins and the LFS said that it was in a fight and to give it Melafix to help it heal quicker. There was a curved line on the clown fish and had " little cottony looking balls on it". I woke up this morning and there he was on the bottom of the tank behind the rock. I put him in a plastic bag with water(saltwater). I am going back to the LFS and qask if I can get my money back even though they don't have a guarnantee. It's not my fault the fish they carry are injured. I called them back and told them about the dots on his body( not till yesterday they were cottony looking) and they aid it could be the copper treatment. I never used copper so I beleved them and thought nothing of it. And here he is on the bottom of the plastic bag I have him in. The female if doing fine. I sure hope they give my money back.

Where the little things clear?? Could they have been isopods? Sorry to here about your loss. I no longer shop at my lfs because their fish are not healthy. I go a little farther away to get healthy fish. They also breed many fish there, so I know that they are healthy. I always look at my fish very carefully before I buy them. I see how they swim, and ask what they eat. If it is expensive, I ask to see the fish eat. I also look for parasites on them, ich, bite marks, cloudy eyes and many other things. You should always examine your fish before you buy them.

I notice today that my clownfish's left fin, which it never seemed to have used much since I got it, is smaller than it was yesterday. Only the orange part is left. There used to be black and like a clear part to it. Also it has clear spots behind its right eye.

notice the clear patches on right side on white stripe by the right fin and the smaller fin on left side.

Leapord babe, no it des not look like that. Someone at the LFS said that it could be velvet ick. If u have a ppic plz let me c it. He said it u set your heater to a higher temp., around 85, the parasite can't tollerate it and would die off. Today, it could be a coinsedence(sp?), but I sqaw a white worm thing floating in the water with a transperant tail thingy behind it. I don't know if it was the parasite, but just a mental note. The owner of the LFS said that he undeerstood what I said and I was right that it was their fault that they were carrying injured fish. He'll replace one for me when they get their shipment in. Which will probably be Wednesday.
Thanx
