percula only eats flake

i just got a percula clown fish. it wouldnt touch the frozen brine but darts after the flake food. ive heard you should mix a fishes diet up. is going to be ok on just flake? or is there something else i should try?

My perculas were very picky at first. They would also only eat flake. Now, they eat everything I put in there. If you haven't had it long, be patient. Lots of Luck

I agree.Give it time.I also suggest trying some plankton.My clown loves it.Its very meaty too.

thanks im not gonna worry about it. i just figured because he was probably tank raised that he was just used to eating flake. well ill give him time, ive only had him for 2 days. thanks for all the help.

Agreed, my clown took some time to get use to the other kinds of foods. I feed mine formula 1 and 2, mysis shrimp and blood worms. He loves all of it now.

just be glad that he eats flakes and find him a flake food that's balanced.

I bought a tank raised clown and he preferred the flakes until(a few days later) he decided to give the brine shrimp a whirl. He still eats the flakes, but goes nuts for the frozen stuff. Give him a little time, he'll realize what the good stuff is.
