added 1 to newly cycled tank 75 gal. 60 lbs LR 1 carpet anemone, no other tank mates. staying at the top in the corner, no visible sign of parasites, eating live brine. will move up and down the corner of tank but mostly at the top. is he sick? why wouldn't he hide in the LR?

That is usually how they act for the most part. They find one place and kind of 'hover' there. They don't swim like most other fish, and once they find a spot they are comfortable with they usually won't move from it except to eat.
How long has the tank been cycled?

about 6 weeks, everything looks good, and the carpet is doing great which i think is a good sign that the water is good, right?

is this true with all clowns? or just the prec??
This is normal behavious for Percula. They are extremely territorial and when they are removed from their home they tend to adopt the first place they see. Often this is where someone floated the bag they came in. The same is true somewhat for Occelaris and less for other clownfish. For example, Maroon Clowns will pick the best location in the tank and remove everyone from that location.
Keep this in ming when introducing Percula or Ocellaris to your tank. I like to place them in a specimen container after the quaranteen tank and physically place them in the exact location I would like them to adopt.

what type of containers will work?? are they special ones that I would need to buy??? and if they learn to kind of stay at the top or sides are there ways to get them off this habit??

how do i move him? he cant live in the corner of the tank like that, would moving him into a container then rereleasing him work. i could easily scoop him without any harm. i also have a 7 inch diameter carpet i would REALLY like to see him in. and again no tank mates atleast not fish.

I would think if it had tankmates that this wouldnt be an issue... I have a chiclid ( freshwater tank) thats the only fish in there and she just kind of hides all day... better now tho since I remembered to turn the light on!! from what I have seen and know about the freshwater fishes... they swim around and play more when there are 4+ fish in there...

i put my percs in and they kinda swam until they found somewhere they really liked. now my elegance coral hosts them, it take a little over a week for them to finally go to it though. give it some time it may make its way to the carpet.
on the cichlid note. if you plan on adding more do it and with them its better to have more than normal for that tank because they are SO territorial.

ya I wanted to add one more to the tank... but its only a tiny 10 gallon I got for free lol so she will probably remain lonely. also forgot what type it is... and I want to add something that is the same so I know they will get along

if your talking about the cichlids definetly keep the africans with africans, south american with south american, jack demseys with jack demseys. if you have a pic i can probably tell you what kind it is. and with them you could have 4 or 5 cichlids in there depending on what kind it is.

ive got 7 percs, 1 black and white perc, and 1 sebae and they are all over the tank. rarely hide and always waiting for you to walk by with some food... maybe adding a 2nd one?
