How do i get rid of unwanted anemones? im broke right now and was hoping that i could do it without using chemicals or any thing else store bought. i read on one forum about using a turkey baster to blast them with boiling water. does this work? the anemones are starting to get out of control.any info would be apreciated.

yes, i do the hot water method, its better with a syringe, shove it into it, implode it, done..... hard to do all at once, especially if there are others around, when you kill one, most the others will bolt back into the rock... i have aiptasia on my glass, is that wierd? they come out of the sand and stuff, its ridiculous, i think tis cuz somehow they got into my filter.

haha, i dont even know what mine are. there was like 2 or 3 of them, now there is more like 15. they were fun to watch in the begining but now it sux. they're coming up everywhere. some are tiny though will i still be able to "boil" them also?

you should be, as long as they dont retract into the rock you'll be fine. I have one thats the size of my clown that I cant reach cuz its in one of those areas where no matter what, its staying. But before I would wait for all them to get big, then implode them. They are more than likely aptasia (they bad) and this shoudl work, a few other methods exist, like lemon juice, Joes Juice is simply the best (from what i hear) i never have used it cuz im a cheap kid who doesnt want to spend $7 for a tube of it cuz i could buy a lb of rock for that price.

Peperment shrimp will do the job as well and it will also keep them from spouting uip as the are part of there diet. Just make sure to feed them once their all gone.

yeah, i've had 3 peppermints, none have done it, so they aren't full proof obviously
