Pet Supplies Plus?

Okay, I live in a town with no LFS, nothing. I have to drive an hour and a half to get a LFS, or order everything.
Yesterday a Pet Supplies Plus moved in. I haven't had time to go in yet, but what do they have? I don't want live goods, just basic stuff like salt (its a fortune to ship that stuff).
Anyone know?

Your not gonna be wowed by anything there. I think they have salt but not much. I would say your going to have to get into ordering. Try to get your needs in bulk and you should save on shipping that way.

Yanni......I also live in nowhereland.....I have to buy 99.9% of my livestock and supplies online
the livestock I definitely recommend SWF.....
As far as the dry....there are places that have one rate shipping
for example....I bought a 200lb box of salt for about $50 along with other supplies and paid $6.99 for shipping.....also when you buy online you pay no tax....SOOOOO....IMO the shipping fee replaces the tax charge

i agree 100% meowzer, I know that I will be buying most of my stuff online and the shipping fee is better than what I would pay for tax where I live because our Sales tax rater here is 8.25%

That is just the state tax part of it you also here have to add the county tax on that also which brings mine up to 8.25%

Thanks, I don't have that here. It is just 7% statewide, except for some towns that were declared economically depressed. They have no sales tax.

you are lucky.. LOL yes we have the state portion of the tax then the county has their portion. which is crazy.. but oh well unless you move to a state that has not state tax i guess you are stuck paying it...

Sales tax is 9% here too. And Alabama has a state income tax. Wonder how we existed back in Florida with a 6% sales tax and no income tax

6% for me!

That is a good deal though Meowzer. I'll have to shop around. But right now I just need salt, I ran out last weekend. And Saturday is water change day.
My hopes were never high. It's just if I'm in a pinch at least I'll have something other than Walmart.
A LFS sure would be nice sometimes...

You can buy sw salt at Walmart

Not mine. I'll look again, but I've never seen it.
Just quick question concerning salt. I currently use Instant Ocean, just the regular stuff. Would there be any advantage to switching over to the Instant Ocean Reef Crystals?
I don't plan on keeping corals, but do plan on keeping shirmp.

Ah, I see. I wish Walmart sold salt, it would make life easy.
I need a phosphate reactor anyway, so I'll order that too.
Then I need more fish. I love my two clowns, but I've had just them for three years, and want something new.

Well, I finally stopped by today, and was quite happy with what they had!
They had salt (unfortunately only 50 gallon bags, but still), a nice selection of aquariums, and a small, but nice enough selection of equipment.
So I'm happy!

Nothing (yet...).
I probably will pick up some salt today, and maybe a container of GFO too.
I do need another Koralia pump...
