Yes we have learned this the hard way. We always let her lick our ice cream bowl and thought it was ok because she wasn't getting much, but we were WRONG! She's a miniature yorkie and she weighs 3 pounds so a little bit of anything is a lot to her. She got pancreacitis. (Spelling???) so we put her on a strict diet and she is fine now! We felt HORRIBLE!

wow.... so glad to hear she made it... pancreatitis is no joke, as I'm sure you now know. There is ice-cream made for dogs - and u can even get recipes to make it yourself!

Texas - is Izzy a dane? goooorgeous markings... and she's HUGE!!!
Yup. She's a Dane. I think she's probably the smartest dog I've ever had the pleasure to have. She's always the demo dog in her puppy class. She makes me look good.

Can you believe those markings are a disqualification by AKC standards?

yeah she's kinda heathered-harlequin. really, really pretty. The AKC can have their standards and eat them too

Sometimes I wish the pic was the result of a tourist trap and not from real life. Especially come sundown when they all start screaming/calling for the flock members to come in.
lol, yeah, I can see that ;) But if you don't have close neighbors I find it's a lot easier, I had an indian ringneck that I had to give away due to noise complaints and I don't think I even really minded the screams much but I DID stress out about other people being bothered.
She was an amazing bird tho, I got her as this pitiful little grey lump of down that had been so severely featherplucked by her cagemate that we weren't even sure what she was! She was totally wild but smart as a whip and I only lost a little (ok, a lot of) blood making her trust me. She did take it as a personal offense if anyone dared to speak to me (including the phone - that was demolished) and made an excellent room guard. ;) I lucked out in finding this wonderful woman to give her to who lived in the country and had a conure so she knew what loud was!
Awww... I miss her birdy smell!!
