What could be making my PH drop. My tank is about three weeks old and all other levels are fine. However my ph has dropped off from 8.2 to 7.8. There is no live stock in the tank yet. Any help would be great

Check your alkalinity. If it's low it can cause your PH to be off. What time of day are you testing?

PH drops are normal when the tank is new. This is why adding fish into a new tank is not recommended. Have you cycled the tank yet? If so, how did you cycle?

I have a fuge with oppisite light schedule from the DT. The only thing I used to cycle the tank was about 90 lbs of live rock and live sand. It is a 55gal tank. The ALK is fine at 300ppm. Is it ok to use a buffer. If so what kind.
