ph stability

My ph in my aquarium will not stay stable. I have been adding marine buffer and it raises the ph to 8.3 for a while until i do my regular water change then it falls again to around 7.8 to8.0. My tank is a 125 i do 15 gallon water changes every 2 weeks. readings are amonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 20. Is there anything else i could try to to avoid the ph swing i know its not good for it to be fluctuating so much. Any help would be appreciated.

7.8 is fine. I would suggest you quit adding buffer. You need to understand the relationship between alkalinity, calcium, and magnesium in regards to pH. What are your alk, cal, and mag levels? What is your turnover rate?

+1

Stability is more important then having a higher PH. Mine has been at 7.9 for forever now and my corals / inverts / fish are fine.
