I just did a 5gl water change on my 65 and a couple hrs later I tested my ALK and it was 3.0....I like to keep it at 3.5-3.8. So I buffed it and forgot to check the PH first. So now my PH is at 8.55
Since I added my fuge my PH has been awesome at 8.38-8.42 around the clock.
So now what???? My ALK is still ok at 3.5....should I do a water change or just leave it? Maybe turn the lights off for a few hrs???

Your pH should drop naturally. It will sometimes rise depending on the type of buffer you are using to control alk.
For exaple, the kent dkh buffer raises the pH for a short time, then it drops off within24-48 hrs.
