Couldn't you just coat the statue with a thin film of sw safe epxy?

I am not sure what they are called, they will eventually go away and the back will get covered in corraline algae. There is a name for the white dots but I cant remember it right now, it is very common in fairly new set ups.

got any updates phil? any new pics or anything? LOL and i like that idea about the epoxy on the statue, someone else told me to use silicone, and im considering it LOL
