Phosban reactor is the bomb diggity.

I had a recent problem with brown algae and all my water params are perfect. Over the past 2 weeks I did 3 water changes to no avail. Last Friday (3 days ago) I got a Phosban reactor. What a difference.
I'd say 90% of the brown algae is gone and the coraline is filling in like mad.
Should I rotate the reactor on-off weekly or run constantly? It's on a 15 gal tank.

The brown algae is likely diatoms, which are dying because the phosban not only removes phosphates but silicates, which are required by diatoms to form their skeletons. I run phosgard 24/7 in my Fluval FX5.

if it was diatoms, that should have come and gone naturally with a new tank.
have you tested your PO4 ?
i do agree the phoban reactor is the bomb tho lol. PS you can also run carbon in the chamber
