Phosguard..anyone use this?

I use it, I would advise using a media reactor to get the most out of it but you can just place it in your sump or filter.

I use it, and unlike a lot of products it actually works as advertised. I placed it in my powerfilter and got good results.

so it won't hurt any other levels in my tank?..I have 0 nitrites,nitrates,and ammonia right now. It's not dangerous to anenomes, fish or any corals? If I get it I will be using it in my sump. Thought about putting a bag right before the chamber that pumps up to main tank.

I have heard and it has warnings on the product that says to be sure to rinse it as the dust can be harmful to certain corals. It also says for a reef tank not to run it constantly. That being said I run it fairly regularily and have not noticed a problem with any of my corals.

How regularly do you run it? I'm using it now to get rid of some diatoms, but I'm not sure if I want to take it out now that the job is done, leave it in, or run it once in a while.

I run it approximately, for one week or two, off for a week and so on although I don't have a set schedule.

Can you use phosguard in a hang on the back filter? What do you do just put it in a filter bag and put it behind the filters?

Yep. I have an Aquaclear and they make bags for all their different size filters.

I use it in my fluval canister filter. It has been in there since I started my tank about 2 1/2 months ago. I was told to always run it. My levels (thank god) have been perfect from the getgo. Run it!

I swear by it. I use phosban but i'm sure it's the same. Brown granular stuff right?? It works wonders. Replace it once a month with new media

Phosgaurd is white. I've tried other products, but Phosguard seems to be the only one that does what it claims.

phosban got rid of my hair algae and dropped my phos from pretty damn high to zero in 3 weeks. Im sure the white stuff works too??? I tried Kent phos sponge (white) and it didn't seem to do the trick. :thinking:

I use it 24/7, but I tend to overfeed. I use a two little fishes reactor. Works as advertised! :thinking: it helped in getting of my diatoms due the overfeeding issues, lol

anyone out there just run the phosguard in a media bag in their sump? That is how I am planning on doing it.

It will work that way if you place it in a high flow area. It probably won't work as well as it would if water had no choice but to go through it, but you should see results.
