What is the best way to remove phosphates. I have a bunch of hair algae growing big time, I checked my nitrates and they were good. I talked to a friend of mine and said I probably have a big phospahte problem. What is the best way to remove them?

I had a huge battle with hair algae. I kept adding to my clean-up crew, but it never worked. Finally I added a sump/ fuge with some chaeto algae and it was like magic. Within a week or two, the hair algae had lost the battle.

i've had succes with phosguard. it needs to be changed when levels rise again, which can get expensive. what are you using for a water source?
