Just received my phosphate kit and did a test. My RO-DI water test 0 ppm. But when I did my tank water, it was .50 ppm. The kit is salifert and says 0 is ideal and at .25 coral growth is stunted. What, in my tank could cause phosphates to jump up and what can I do to lower it? Also with it being that high and supposed stunted coral growth, what other adverse reactions could happen to the coral at .50ppm (zoa's melting away)?
