po4 is in about all living things plant and animal imo think of it as fertilizer for algae growth the way we can reduce it is by not feeding so much if your feeding everyday you may want to try every other day and see if the po4 goes down.Your level should be at .3ppm or lower if you have a reef tank, so i would start with looking at your feeding habits first . Actually CoolPerson the first thing I would look at is your water source that you are using. If it is tap water, then more than likely the phosphates are coming from this, so do a test to check the levels in the water. I have the same problem so I know how ya feel. ;) Let us know and we can guide ya from there.

Water source and foods.
Mostly water sources are the problem. That and the fact that most test kits do not test phosphates very well.

Coolperson,
I gave you a number of suggestion about how to lower your phosphates in your previous post, also titled "Phosphates". Have you tried any of them?

Cool -
You seem to have several threads going at once regarding your phosphate levels.
I gave you some things to look for as well in the post Phosphate levels - in the Aggressive forum.
People are replying to your questions.
Posting the same question, at near the same time, in different forums gets confusing, and a little annoying.
People like to help where they can - but it's so much easier for everyone if you refrain from multiple posting the same questions.
I know of some folks that won't even mess with multiple posts.
