These creatures in the bottle cannot be alive, so is it a bottle of dead creatures?? Is there like a freshness date on them??

HA! This fad will wear out soon. if its thee same manufacturer (Reeef Nutrition) The bottle comes with a little piece of micro or macro algea and houses th copepods...lol this bottle theey say can be kept - room temp and will keep the copepods alive for up to an entire month. WHAT A JOKE! When my LFS tried out the display they provided, they were all dead in less than a week. He kept the lid off the bottle and even suplimented light for the macro/micro that was provided in the bottle w/ little LED's i think.
Same went for the ones he put in the fridge.
IMO u would have to do mini water changes on this stupid little bottle to keep even a fraction of them alive. (which is absolutly ridiculous)
I think for populating fuges it might be a good purchase. Says 2000-2500 mixed gender microns for $20....
I take that back....6 bottles averages 2000-2500 microns. doesnt sound like a good buy anymore...lol

I have the Kent phyto as well. I think there is no instructions to refrigerate because the Kent products are loaded with preservatives :(
ps- one reason live pyto/zoo has a short shelf life is due to the fact that the stuff is a mixture of different organisms to create a balanced nutrition load. The longer the mix sits, the more time the organisms that reproduce quicker have to crowd out the other organisms. This leads to a phyto/zoo mix that has a very high content of one nutrient and a lack of all the others. Bacteria and rotifers tend to eventually take over the mixtures as well.
