Cool fish. I've been thinking about getting 1 as well. How long have you had him? What size tank do you have? What are you feeding? My LFS has 1, and I've been debating on getting him, and putting him into my 37 gallon tank. What other tankmates do you have with him?

Yes, it is:) What you are looking at are artificial decorations. I just purchased a bright red barnacle and a that silk plant in the background to keep the frog from losing his fire-engine-red color. I've got LR in the tank too but he prefers the barnacle. I wonder how he knows he's red?LOL!! He's in a 20L aquarium and I really love him!

Stacy, I've only had "Dudley" since last Tuesday. He's in a 20L aquarium all by himself. He eaten frozen silversides, frozen krill, and frozen squid. I've been really lucky with this one. I tried 2 before him and was heartbroken. The first died of ick 4 days after I bought him, the second quit eating altogether after 10 days and died.....tried everything including glass shrimp and feeder mollies to no avail. Almost didn't get this one but something told be the third time would be a charm:) This little guy is only 2 1/2 inches long and will eat anything that moves on a feeder stick......nice! Be great if you could find one that is already eating frozen at the LFS......

Keep us posted on how he does. Hopefully this one will do good for you. I'm still debating on getting one. The one at the LFS has been there a week, and is already eating krill, and silversides.

Kovu......the little white blob to the right of Dudley is is esca! He lures at everything, even spaghetti worms:) He will lure and/or walk right over to anything I place on a feeding stick. I use one of those clear ones, so he doesn't suspect its not live food. Here's a couple more pics.....

my LFS has had one in their coral tank for about a month now. They want 90 bucks for him. does this seem right? what else can he be put with? or what can he not be put with?

90 sounds high. My LFS is wanting 30 for theirs. Maybe it's a different species. I started a post in the aggressive forum on this, you may want to check it out.

I paid $110.00 for Dudley.....All the reading I've done says they do well in a species only tank....a 20L is what mine is in.
However, Scott Michael, says that the following are Potential Frogfish tankmates:
Soldierfishes, Squirrelfishes, Scorpionfishes, Groupers ,larger Hawkfishes, Snappers, Grunts and sweetlips, Swallowtail angelfishes, Pyramid butterflyfishes, Monos. Larger Hawkfish, Scorpionfishes, Groupers, and Snappers may eat a frogfish that can be swallowed whole.
Unsuitable tankmates:
Batfishes, Angelfishes, Butterflyfishes, Surgeionfishes, Triggerfishes, Filefishes, Trunkfishes, Pufferfishes, and Porcupinefishes. The species in the following familes that eat zooplankton are of little or no threat to frogfishes:Angelfishes, Butterflyfishes, Surgeonfishes, and Triggerfishes.

Very cool little species although in my area......these species sell for $20-$50.......$50 is at the highest priced store in the area and they currently have a yellow and a red like yours.
Very neat for sure.

Lucky you......the lowest priced one here was a grey colored one for $79.00. I just hope he keeps his red coloring:)

They are not reef safe....Scott Michael says, "will eat ornamental shrimps and fish tankmates. May perch on and irritate corals." I do have a few mushrooms in Dudleys tank but that it......
