Yeah, after seeing those prices I dunno how I can afford it :(
$300+ for a 12G tank (not including the things to go in side) is painful on the wallet.
I found a place where I can get the Nano Cube 12G Deluxe Shipped for just under $175. Maybe later I can get the light upgrade to the 3.24.
How have your corals reacted to it? Do you know anyone who went from normal, to the upgrade with Corals in it?
Thanks..
Ben..

So far so good with the corals. I just put frogspawn and acan lord in there so i'll keep you posted.
Unfortunately i don't know anyone else with a nano cube personally. Where I live, Newfoundland, is not exactly a hotbed for reefkeeping!

My parents ordered me the 12G Nano Cube (guess they felt bad the ex kept all my fish stuff).
I am sooo happy. I didn't get the fancy one like you, but think I will fare alright. I can always get the upgraded hood later :)
Can't wait to get it.

fmelindy,
i really like your layout of your tank - i've said this before also ............
you see - i'm having a problem deceiding on the layout of my rocks in my tank - possibly the problem is i have to much and not the right shapes to make me happy .......arghhhh ...
do you possibly have a picture of your rock layout before adding your extra's ?
might inspire me !
i also have a jbj 12 gallon deluxe myself and 20 lbs of L.S. and 16 lbs of L.R to work with . i've already cycled my tank and still can't make up my mind just how i want the rocks placed.
time is getting to be a factor and i'm getting frustrated.
any ideas are appreciated - thanks
michael

sorry I hae no other pics.
But it looks like you are off to a great start there. My only suggestion would be to try and make some more space between the rocks. See if you can make a small cave or something. Looks like you've got some flat ones there - perfect for the roof of a cave.

if you look at my rock structure you'll see that really all I did is make two colums by stacking the smaller pieces on the sides and then topped it off with that big flat zoo-encrusted rock. It worked out great!

actually there are several passageways ( caves ) - just maybe larger needed .........
i found that the water circulates inside the formation and out other openings - creating a flow inside that i feel is pretty good ...possibly open up the center ( top ) maybe .......give it kind of a volcano crater look possibly..
hhmmmmmmmmmmm - now you've given me an idea !
firefish - look out ......move over ...lol
thanks again

It has the pump replaced with a 150 gph pump and another small submersible pump (you can't see it in the pic) around 90 gph behind the rockwork. Corals include several zoanthid colonies and what I purchased as a "capnella" that hasn't expanded since I put it in the tank two months ago. Fish include two small percs and a yellow coris. Caulerpa grows in there, two different varities and halimeda has been sprouting from the top rock lately (can't see it in the pic). There's also a skunk cleaner shrimp and 4 peppermints in there along with two blue hermits, 4 turbo snails, 3 cerith snails, and a conch I just addes (it's small, I'm going to take it out when it gets bigger). Water parameters have been amazing (I thank the caulerpa which grows like weeds and I have to harvest weekly - feeds my tangs in my main tank). What do you guys think?
fmelindy,
i took your suggestion to open up some spaces with my live rock and it looks much better now - not as nice as yours - but ...oh well ...........wouldn't want to copy ya anyway.
i'll post a pic later when my camera program wants to work right ...lol
has a mind of it's own lately...
question though ...............
what type /brand ...and wattage heater - if any are you using - and what compartment did you put your heater in ?
thanks
michael

Just thought I'd throw my $.02 in on your furniture rearrangements. I like the original arrangement best of the three, although they all look workable. You have a very nice, colorful tank.
