First off...that's not a Tang, it's some species of Butterfly.
Secondly, that medication isnt going to do anything but stress your fish more.
You need to immediately start hypo. It's not going to be detrimental to the fish.

Yes, not sure who told you that was a Naso Tang, but its not, its not even a tang. As the previous poster said, its a butterfly...
You said it had "blotchy" marks on it...that doesnt sound like ich... Can you get a more up close pic for us to see?

Brace, definately not a tang. I would never go back to that LFS thats for sure.
Did you search HYPO? It needs to be done very slowly and also you need a refractometer to measure the s.g. accurately. A plastic swing arm hydrometer will not do. Good luck.

I have an achilles tang that got ick. After i got rid of the ick, he had some pretty bad splotching all over him. My lfs said that is pretty normal for a fish to have some scaring from a severe case of ick. (I'm not saying that is what is wrong with the fish.) He sold me some vitimans to put in the food, and directly into my water. It took a few weeks, but the spots healed up. He is doing fine now. Just thought that might help.

Not an Angel either...it's a Butterfly, although it's hard to tell which species because of the blotchiness.
Salinity can be dropped quickly and the fish will be alright (over 2 - 3 days), but when hypo is over, you should raise the salinity over the course of a week to 10 days.
Also...have you thought of the "white things" as being micro bubbles? Ich doesnt "swarm the tank", nor do pods.
You definately need to find a different fish store.

Sounds like micro bubbles to me. Check your return line, all the way down to your return pump...there's air getting in, somewhere.

They are probably copepods and nothing to really worry about, just free, nutrishious and entertaining food for your fish. By the way I hope you didn't pay the Naso Tang price for that angel ($34.00 versus $19.99 for a vermiculated angelfish on this site). You can find out more about copepods at the Smithsonian website http://www.nmnh.si.edu/iz/copepod/. Hope this helps.

yep i paid $38.00
i have ,1threestripe 2 clowns 1 blue tang 1 dotty back and the (angel)
blue tang started to have white spots, rubbing rocks and
bumping and backing into other fish . opps actualy the dotty back
started with the spots ,floating round the top side ways then the
blue tang got the spots bad and turned pale thats when i threw
them all in 20g qt paniced and got med .not copper .dotty died
right away.angel got spots ,litte bit .blue tang got better .
the the other fish showed no signs .no its been 6 days in qt
i started hypo bout 24hrs ago down to 1.017 now .after reading
existing threads of people medicating most of them either lost there
fish or ich came back later .sorry to babble ,succes rate seems to
almost 100% with hypo .hope i can do it right.
