Bad to not have pods if you have a mandarin that is their main source of food. Again thank you i went today and bought another one piece of lr it weighs about 15lbs and had 3cm pods falling off it in the bag. It has feather dusters growing off it like crazy also bought some brine eggs they are hatching as we speak, and he was eating like a mainiac when i dropped frozen brine in. lfs didnt have any cylopeeze and no store in columbus sells live brine so i will raise my own :)

Good for you Madysmom! Brine will be the last choice for your mandarin but along with a good pod population, it may be ok. They eat tiny live pods continually, until lights are out so if there is any way you could supply more to your tank it would be good. I waited a year or more before I put a mandarin in. Just the other day I realized that I had not seen it and later saw it being consumed by a bristleworm. It only survived 5 years. Thought they lived longer. Beth on the forum suggested it had died and that the worm had not killed it. I am sure she is right. That is the bristleworms job. Good luck with yours.
