I'm doing just the opposite. I have 2 (3) stripe damsels and I'm going to add a trigger of some sort. From what I have heard, people don't recommend adding triggers and damsels together because the damsels may become fish food in the long run. Also, damsels are usually used to cycle and are usually shortlythereafter removed, so if you already have fish in there and the tank is all cycled than I can't see what the reason would be to remove them. They shouldn't bother either the tang or the trigger the only risk is that they might get picked on. But, I'd say try it cuz they are really cheap fish and its worth a try. Good Luck!

i disagree, first off, i have a yellow tang and i hate it , he is always sick and always has that red bacteria infection so all i can do is stress to feed him seaweed selects everday, after this no more yellow tangs for me, i hate them. i have a clown trigger about 4.5 inches with 3 blue damsels and the clown doesnt even bother with them, my old niger did, but he could never catch them no way no way. they add a lot of colro to the tank, so i say get them but know that your yellow taNG will be a problem in my opinion.

Frankly I would add only one of the Damsels-why you ask?-because in 2 of my tanks I have a number of different fish and one very good looking Blue Devil and one Electric Blue Damsel in each of the tanks and have never had any aggressive problems with them because they are only one fish with other species. With a 50 I would think you could find a couple of neat colorful fish to work and if you want go with the best looking Damsel and give the other to the lfs (if you already have them).

the reason i need to ove them is because i have them in a smaller tank and i am about to get rid of the smaller tank.

I think you would be safe adding a damsel, but probably just one. My Trigger and damsel used to get along great. They even slept under the same piece of LR.
