Picasso tankmate

I was in a local fish store this past weekend and saw a large Picasso Trigger (5-6 inches). Beautiful fish!! I passed up on him at first, but of course went back the next day.
He is alone in a 46 bowfront tank. I was told that he was returned to the store due to being super aggressive.
Any suggestions as to what I might be able to add as a tank mate if anything?
Thanks Bill

I have the same..tried a koran angel the other day...that didn't work  ..The only thing I have been able to keep is pretty much what has been in with him from the start. A chocolate tang, dog face puffer, star trigger, and a chain link eel..good luck though..

I was thinking about a puffer, lion or an eel. I have never kept any of them before and my 46 seems a bit small for the trigger and any of those. Finding an eel, puffer or lionfish that are large enough (and doesn't cost too much) may also be a problem.

I have a picasso in with 2 damsels, lion, and foxface. He's a very cool fish. He grunts when he gets excited. As long as I keep him well fed I don't have any problems. I think it depends on the individual fish. My lfs also has one that was returned due to aggression. I got the damsels first, lion and trigger next, then the foxface. All of the fish picked on the foxface for about 3-4 days then were fine. Now everyone lives happily together. My most aggressive fish is my 3stripe damsel. lol

I have Picasso (3") in with a Pinktail Trigger (5+") they were introduced first at the same time, then an Undulated 4". They are cool so far, about 6 months now. They sure are tuff triggers, ours holds his own quite well, and is so non-chalant about any activity the other two try to make. :happyfish He just swims and swims.
When we bought him, he was in with a real cool Damsel, which later got eaten by a wrasse,
because the owner wouldn't get him out of the tank. I haven't been back to that store since.
Peace, Cindy
