picasso trigger attacking damsels

I recently bought blue and striped damsels, and placed them in with picasso trigger, the trig is aggressively nipping at the others. I thought the trig was a passive fish. Is this a bad combination? Any suggestions of what to do? <img src="graemlins//confused.gif" border="0" alt="[confused]" /> robus@aol.com

yes it is because he is going to kill him mine did the same so if you want the damsel to live take him out asap or you know what will happen :(

triggers are very aggressive and territorial fish you should always put triggers in a tank last but not with small fish such as damsels.

Some can be passive, especially Sufflamen triggers, but most learn with age and in time your damsels will just become expensive snacks! I have been toying with the idea as using sw mollies in a sorta breeding program to have marine feeders of sorts, but it mightbe too much work for me, anybody who has tried this let me know?

My friend bought a few damsels to put in my tank the same time I bought a Niger Trigger I lasted about Two days before the trigger was picking them off one at a time. The Guy at the lfs said they would be fine together but that the trigger might eat the crabs I bought to help clean. And that the eel definatly would. The crabs are happy eatting what the puffer drops and have had no worries. But damsels did not make it.
