PICS!~ Blenny nipped numerous times by fairy wrasse... HELP!~

My favorite and most beloved fish, my bicolor blenny, has been nipped (badly) by my yellowfin fairy wrasse.
I got my fairy wrasse about two weeks ago. For the first 4 days, he hid in the rocks in the back and didn't even come out to eat. Once he got used to the tank, he came out and seemed to get along with my other tank inhabitants; percula clown, bicolor blenny and scooter blenny (*eats prepared foods! :) Yesterday, I noticed that the wrasse would swish by and nip at the side of my blenny while my blenny was busy doing his usual (swimming around looking for algae, minding his own business) The blenny just stayed still and didn't seem one bit intimidated by this.
This morning, I come into my office and see my blenny sitting in his favorite place and I did a double take... he had all of these white spots on him in the exact places where the wrasse had been nipping at him the day before. I wanted to give the wrasse the benefit of the doubt and thought that yesterday's incident may have been an isolated event and it wouldn't happen again, or that my blenny got freaked out by him and would stay away from him. Nope! The blenny acts normal and goes about his usual business and when the wrasse sees him and swims close by, he'll display himself and go after the blenny. The blenny isn't afraid of him and stays still for a moment and then goes about his business. I saw this and said "That's it!" the wrasse has to go! I tried to entice him with food and net him, but he's too quick and smart for that.

I thought that after 45 minutes of me trying to catch him, he might figure out that he's in trouble and might even attempt to behave. Nope! Still does the same thing.
What in the world do I do?? How do I catch this meanie?? What do I do with my blenny?? He's my little baby and I would be devastated if this wrasse killed him or harrassed him to the point where he died. But then again, the blenny doesn't seem afraid of him at all; I figured that if he was freaked out enough with the wrasse, he would just stay in his little hole, but no, he still does his daily business.
Take a look at the pics... will this heal on its own? Do I need to dose with anything to help it heal? Why is this area white? Is it because scales are missing? Is this like a "bruise" on a fish?

I know, lots of questions... I am just heartbroken over this. My poor little blenny. He's such a sweetheart. Doesn't bother anyone or anything.

another shot...

The other side of him is fine, no marks at all:

The meanie

my sweet blenny in happier times

Can anyone help??

You'll have to keep trying to remove the wrasse, or he will end up killing the blenny. Also, the wrasse will likely be aggressive with any new fish that is added.
Maybe squirt the food into a large ziplock filled with water and submerged in the tank. If the wrasse goes in for the food, then you can nab him. Otherwise don't feed him until he goes in.

That sounds like a good idea. I will definately try that tomorrow morning.
I've GOT to get that wrasse out of there if I have to take every bit of rock and coral out of there. It breaks my heart that my little blenny is in that shape. I imagine that by tomorrow morning he will have even more marks on him from today's nips.

Why isn't my blenny afraid of him?? I just wish that he would steer clear from him and stay in his hole until I get him out of there.
Will those marks heal on him?

Fish don't tend to learn their lesson. Is the wrassie an aggressive eater? Does he come to the top when you put food in or does he dart out to grab it?

He's a "dart out and grab it" type eater. Very quick and smart. He knew that I was trying to get him today. I tried for 45 minutes.
I WILL get him out if I have to remove everything in my tank to get him.
I even left the top off my tank when I did my water change today hoping that he would jump, but nope!

KAT74,
Found out that many fairy wrasse's can be 'aggressive' to there tank mates and are active voracious eaters, it's suggested they be fed twice a day! The description for "Laboutie" & "Yellow Streaked" fairy wrasses are described as 'exceptionally peaceful even for a Fairy Wrasse'.... YO! Hope you can capture the meanie! Live and learn!

Oh, I certainly plan to catch him tomorrow!! I just hate to see what my blenny will look like tomorrow.

When I left work, the lights were off, and all of them were settling in for the night. When I get to work, the actinics are just coming on and the wrasse usually doesn't stir around until the other lights come on at 9am. I'll be ready for him for sure!

Well, I tried the ziplock bag in the water trick for an hour and it didn't work. He didn't even try to go into the bag... he would wait and try to catch any food that happened to drift out of there. He's too quick and smart.
During my lunch hour, I'm gonna have to take out my rocks and corals and try to catch him that way.
Observing the blenny and the wrasse today, I wonder if the blenny is bringing the nipping upon himself because he's certainly being bold and going about his business like he doesn't have a care in the world. He's not one bit intimidated by the wrasse and will even swim right next to it and stay still as if to say "You wanna piece of me??" and then the wrasse would flare his fins out and go after him. It's like the blenny is "playing" with him. I *know* that he can't possibly like being nipped!

*keeping my fingers crossed* that I catch him at lunch time today!

Okay, I've been "informed" that maybe my blenny thinks the wrasse is a cleaner wrasse, and it makes sense because he *will* approach the wrasse and kind of "lean" into him and it aggravates the wrasse and the wrasse nips at the blenny, and he just stays there and lets the wrasse do it. Maybe he thinks he's getting cleaned?? A little *rough* for cleaning, but maybe he thinks that this is the way it's supposed to be done??

My LFS sent me a link to a cleaner wrasse called a Suezichthys aylingi
and in a couple of pics it *does* look like my wrasse, so maybe he thinks the wrasse is supposed to clean him? Maybe this is why he's not afraid of him.

I'm gonna leave the wrasse in for right now and monitor the situation.

That could very well be. I hope the blenny will be alright, he should be. Please keep us posted

I'll post some pics later, but my blenny is all healed up!
He was a quick healer!

The blenny and wrasse now seem to have a mutual understanding of each other and there hasn't been anymore problems noted.

I thought so too, but apparently, my fairy wrasse didn't like my blenny mistaking him for a cleaner wrasse!~
