Very nice!!! Don't see hawaiian dragon morays very often!
How old (how long have you had) your lion? Looks like an adult, yet still has the projections above his eyes...

I've only had him for about 6 months, but he's aprox. 8 years old and 15" long. He still has his antenna and "whiskers" for some unknown reason.

They can sometimes go for that amount, yes...it just depends on where you get them. Here, in Chicago, they usually run $1500 - $2500, for a single. I'm in the process now of either starting a new tank or cleaning out my 200gal. because I have 7 more Hawaiian Dragons coming in. The tank is planned to house the 8 DMEs, in a nest, that'll be equally split...4 males and 4 females. They've never been bred in captivity, but I'm gonna give it a shot.
AND...thanks for the compliments.

That selection is incredible. Where do you pick up most your fish in Chicago? You have them shipped in direct from some place or is there a Chicagoland store you go to?

The Lion and Dragon Moray came from a previous owner...bought second hand.
The Blue Throat Trigger came from Chicago Aquarium, on Clark and Winnemac, along with the Clown Trigger. I'm good friends with the owner and basically got both for free.
The Whitemouth Moray came from Chicago Aquarium, for FREE, because someone brought it in as a "VICIOUS MORAY" and everyone was afraid to get near it. I took it home, for free, and have gone so far as hand feeding it, with no aggression what-so-ever.
The Passer Angel and Sailfin Tang came from a local reefer, for free, who didnt have room for them anymore.

Cool stuff!!! Is the hermit crabs safe in there? I am setting up a FOWLR. I like to keep some shrimps and crabs but worry that the trigger will eat them.

This is my Red Starry Hermit, Goliath. He's the size of a baseball and doesnt take crap from anyone. lol I've kept him with Queen Triggers, Clown Triggers...if it's known for killing crabs, he's been kept with it. He'll fight off ANY fish that tries to steal food from him. And...he killed a Queen Trigger that I had...so, he's a tough boy.

I saw a similar hermit crab in the store. Maybe I will give it a try when my tank is setup. Can you post your list of livestock? I can only afford a 95g tank. If I do the math, I figure I can keep almost half of the livestock you have.....right?

27" female Hawaiian Dragon Moray (will max out around 30" - 32")
24" Whitemouth Moray (will max out at 60")
15" Volitan Lion (adult)
8" Blue Throat Trigger (adult)
8" King Passer Angel (will max out around 14")
8" Sailfin Tang (will max out around 10")
Actually, none of my livestock would fit in that size tank. These guys are all in a 200gal. and that's still too small for them, IMO.

I have two of these guys . One of them had to go to its own little nano tank because it was such a rough pecker. I didn't want to get rid of it because it will go good in the monster as soon as its up and running. the other one got to stay in the reef tank with the fish that play nice. Although I don't know how nice that is since my ZOO's are slowely disapering . Caught both the hermit and the chocolet chip star eatting them.
