Attached a couple of pics below. Behind the starfish is a crab who lost a fight to the death last week with a newly added snowflake eel.
I need to add - any suggestions? FYI - this is fish only tank. I like colorful & unique creatures.

Its called a "Basic" Starfish and Yes, it is hearty. I had a different type, forget the name but it was a velvet texture and died quickly. I've had the one pictured for a few months. I feed him once a week.

I just checked out the purple lobster pic on the website - Wow! :joy: I've never seen one of those before in the LFS. How do you feed it exactly and what does it eat?

My sfe turned my purple reef lobster into a meal when he was only 8in long and the lobster 4in. The lobster only lasted 5 days.

I'm about to get fed up with the snowflake eel! I think he killed my starfish last night! Weekly, I put a small piece of shrimp under the starfish for it to eat - been doing this for months. Well, last night, the eel apparently smelled it and went down in the rocks under the starfish to steal the food.
Now the starfish hasn't moved from that spot (unusual) and is shaped in an awkward position. I'm wondering if the eel ripped the food out of the mouth of the starfish and/or bit him. How do I know if he's dead? Any suggestions on this issue??

Funny you mentioned that - I just bought a Coral Angel. I was tempted to get a Queen Anglel but didn't want to spend the extra $ when the coral was a much better value.
Are you saying I should let the eel die by starving it?

I believe that the person who said that meant that you should stop putting in crabs/ lobsters. That is what sfe eat in the wild.
