Yes Tim,
Thats a flower pot gonopora. I have had it for about 4 months now. It started to decline a few months ago, but it has been holding it's own for a while now. Quite honestly, I put it in too soon. the tank was fairly new and unstable. Bad advice from the LFS. I was young, green and stupid. I am still a rookie, but have learned alot from this board and my own rookie mistakes.
Here is a pic of it taken on New Years day. Sorry for the blurry shot. I am not nearly as good as RyeBread!

Hey guys,
Yes I asked because I also made that mistake of buying a Gonipora TWICE, due to bad LFS advice and my water quality was standard but lighting was abismal. The LFS gleefully sold me too. Needless to say I have a new LFS now :D
All the pictures are fantastic, anyone any advice on keeping them?
Tim.

Reef Fool, What settings are you using on your camera?
I have the Olympus C-3040, and haven't gotten the "perfect setting" yet.
Close but not quite there....

cmack,
I would go with a branching type hammer. The regular hammers are much harder to keep. I have had both, and the branching hammer is still with me. I was told by the LFS I got it from that if anythign happens to one head, just snap it off, and the others will be fine. It has never come to that, but I have seen the regular hammers just have problems and receed into oblivion.
Hammers like lots of water movement, lots of light, calcium and feeding. Get a good looking green one. I have cream one, which is pretty, but the green ones, as you can see from the pictures, are really beautiful.

cmack,
I was wrong about the camera that I took that picture with. I used my old Olympus D-460 zoom on that one. (I broke that camera in Universal Studios while riding the Dueling Dragons with it in my pocket! I bought a new C-4000 before Xmas). I take my pics in HQ auto focus Macro mode. Sometimes good, sometimes not. RyeBread is the best one to ask about cameras. I suck at photography. I just get lucky with a nice pic once in a while!
