Besides the obvious (blue hippo will outgrow tank quickly) it looks pretty good. The only thing i would do different with your tank is put a black background on it, and get rid of the HOB filters. Just replace them with another powerhead or two. Looks good so far. Oh yeah, what is your light system?

Nice start! Ditto what RotaryGeek said. Lighting is going to make a big difference with the coral you have. Also, seems like you have too many fish for a 55, IMO. Keep an eye on your trates!

Definitely going to be a bioload issue with 8 fish. Especially a clown, shark and hippo. I've had my hippo and yellow tang in a 55 and they are still fine and its been a year and a half so dont worry too too much there.... But make sure you're keeping up on water changes to control those nitrates...

I am going to add a sump/refugium I have all I need to put it together, I'm just trying to get this PVC only overflow to work for me...The sump will be 20gal.

Good call! I was going to suggest a sump.

Yeah; HOB filters get a bad rap; but if you regularly rinse off the excess gunk, they work just fine on smaller tanks.

I would get rid of the hippo tang because they get up to 12 inches long and I'd also get rid of that shark because its a freshwater shark and it gets too big for a 55 gallon tank. I'd also add a black background.
Good luck with the tank.

I am working on a 125gal. tank as well. So it won't be in this tank much longer, as a matter of fact 125 will be a fish only. The live rock is just about ready and I'm still tossing around what lighting system I'm going to use. I think I'm leaning towards 3 clip 150w metal Halide. A friend of mine just broke down his tank and a few weeks before he did he got the lights and never put them on so they are brand new. And I can get all 3 for about $250.00.

Needless to say but I put alot of work into it...I'm batting 1000 I have never lost a fish. The only down side to this tank is I just started to get red slime, but I'm taking care of that rightnow. my wife said I can no longer call this a hobby because I put more time in my tanks then I do at work.
