he told me he got them out of the ocean by his house. Also that is his normal tank, with fish and such.

Acording to them I dont. I have a 30g tank with 40lbs lr ,40lbs ls, a bio 330 filter, and one power head.
I didnt want to do it ,but i did.
Then I told them iam going to set up a 10g sh tank and catch another one and they yeped and hollered about that to. I had one person on my side.

If that is what you want to do, than do it I get sick and tired of people critisizing people after they post a pic. Its no wonder people don't post more pics, they are afraid of getting yelled at. I bet more people have tangs in a 40 or smaller, but are afraid to admit it on this board. Best of luck

Probably the main reason that people were yelling at you was because you were taking an animal from the ocean (illegally) that is endangered. As people who keep fish and corals it is our responsibilty to be good stewards of what has been given to us. That is why the collection of seahorses and other animals that are being decimated from the oceans should be reserved for the experts who have the knowledge and the funds to keep them. That way they can breed them and sell them to people like you and me. I only know of one company that sells seahorses that they breed though. the rest of the places just perpetuate the problem.
I don't mean to criticize but I just think that if more people were more informed they would make the decision to use the ocean's resources more responsibly.

Thanks fro ur opinion but if they r dieing off then taking one to u own care could save them. Becuase obviously someting is killing them but u also have a point he might be doing better in the wild , I guess u just never know. Also the place were I got him was a baot ramp with dirty water so mabe he would have done better with me.
