Now that's what i'm talking about!
Imo a reef tank don't look right with 10lbs of rock.
You gotta fill it up like you did, looks great.
I put 200lbs. in my 90 gal.
I shopped around, 120lbs baserock,80lbs live to seed. at $1.50 a pound average.
tip: search ---- for live rock in your area to save on shipping. It seems there's always somebody breaking down a tank somewhere.

looking good are you going to do some water changes and keep an eye on the calcium levels. The live rock is going to suck up a lot of calcium in the next couple of days. If it were me I would do a water change every day or every other day.

Not much wish i could do the math for you but i think (correct me if i am wrong) you only really need just 1 pound of rock per gallon, and usually when you buy coral it is most always attatched to live rock pieces so you end up adding rock that way, with the amount of rock you have in that tank i am not sure if even one fish would have enough water to swim in, i believe if it was me i would take some of the rock back, but thats just me:)

I only have 2 Clowns, 2 Yellow Tail Damsels and 1 LAwnmower Blenny.
There is plenty of roon in the front, back and top of the tank for them to swim.
No to mention all the crevices between the rocks

there may look like a lot of room i am not talking about that, i was concerned about how many gallons of water they actually have to swim in, don't they need so much oxygen from the water to live?

zure, which is why I have the two 400GPH powerheads and the Emperor 400. This should move a lot of surface area. Consequently, it should provide oxygen back to the water

if that is what you like then go for it, it still think it is a wee bit crowded for my taste, and remember you still haven't added coral, but you are the one who has to go through the alge bloom not me:)

they say for a reef tank that you should have somewhere between 1.5 to 2 lbs per gallon, so I am within the parameters. I would guess that I have somewhere around 100-110 lbs of live rock

Did it cycle in 10 days or you let it cycle for 10 days? I hope your saying that your spikes went up then down before you added the fish.

Huh, why would rock suck up calcium? Is it growing? It will be some time before coraline starts to grow.
It does look like enough rock, but I think Melissa might have been talking about rearranging it alittle so it's not top to bottom wall-o-rocks. Their are different ways to stack so you can create shelves for corals and make it more real looking. Right now it "looks" as though their aren't too many places for coral. Or is this a FO?
Good luck with the tank.:joy:
