Here are a few pictures of my friend's tank. It is a 75 gallon Perfecto with Amiracle overflow. Homemade skimmer, calcium reactor (by me), Mag 9 return. Lights are 2 X 175 watt mh Ushio 10000K bulbs. 4 X 110 watt VHO actinics. 3/4" sea swirl and 3 maxi-jet 1200's for circulation. 2 4" radio shack fans for cooling.

Tell me what you think... He drilled holes in the live rock and plastic tied them together to get the overhangs and such. It has been up and running since the beginning of August 2002.

The anthias and the tang flare at each other once in a while, but no battles. The Sohal is in need of a bigger tank, but he has plans for a 125 right now.
NM - yes, those are the dreaded GSP in the corner. I told him not to get them, but he likes them so we got them to grow off onto the glass. I think he can control them better there. Not bad growth for only being in there about 3 months. He has a lot of nice SPS in there. A lot of frags from me and others. They are just hard to see cause they're so small right now. A few have already grown over the epoxy we used to anchor them (after only being in just over a month). He is getting good growth rates so far. He is already talkin about changing lighting in it. He wants to go with 2 X 400 watt 20K radiums, and remove two of the VHO's.

the dreaded GSP

Oh dear..
I was planning to get some of these for my 2ft reef (or nano reef?) tank..
Why are they "dreaded"?
James:confused:
btw, im presuming GSP = Green Star Polyps, yes?

danrw84 - no it is not a doser like you are thinking. A calcium reactor is a chamber which holds aragonite media...water is circulated through it, CO2 is added, and the water is then slowly dripped out of the chamber. Inside the chamber, the CO2 slowly dissolves the media which adds calcium and so forth to the water.
SuperCichlid - they are not bad, I just have always had them grow out of control in my tanks and end up nearly killing my other corals...either by stinging them or simply growing over them. I tried peeling them back and discarding (or selling), but that can be a full time job as fast as I have had them grow. Even faster than Xenia Elongata.

How big is that colony of GSP? (GSP = Green Star Polyps). I wonder if its possible, over time, to have a back wall covered totally in GSP? I think that would look pretty good!

It is about 8-9 inches in diameter right now. I have seen a tank at The Aquarium Center in Randallstown, MD that had the entire back glass covered in them. That was pretty cool looking.
