It Sounds Like Coraline Algae-if It Is Hard To The Touch And Like Rock On Your Glass, That Is Coraline-usually Very Pink On The Glass And New Rock, Though Will Come Up Nice And Purple On Good Live Rock.
Its A Good Thing-but Difficult To Scrape Off The Glass Where You Still Want To Be Able To See!

I have a ton of coraline too but recenty it has been turning white. I have not changed my lighting schedule. I have 2 175W MH and 1 400W MH in the middle with PC actinic. The tank is 165 reef. It look like it is bleaching. Is there something wrong? Mt water perameters are ok. I just changed salt to get a better calcium. Other then that nothing has changed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Erik
