pink plate coral

anyone ever had one of these pink plate corals that GLOW amazingly under actinics??? I just bought one and its beautifull. Just curious if they are seen alot and normal to come by.

Pink/red plates aren't as common as the usual greens and oranges.

Here's a redish plate at one of my LFS. It appears brown in the picture, but it's much more red in person. They're selling it for $110, but I would consider that cheap for a plate like this. Another shop has two of them in their display.

out of curiousity how do you know if those are healthy, don't the tenticles stick out pretty far normally?

These are short tentacle fungias so they shouldn't be that long.
I'm not sure about the one in the first pic, but the plate in my second pic has been in captivity for at least 6 months, maybe even a year.

Heres my pinkish one i bought today for 40 bucks!!

and another

The guy i buy all my supplies from was going to put this one in his 1000g show tank but i talked him out of it, since im such a good customer

Here is another i got from the same guy for 40 bucks also! VERY PRETTY!

at one point, i was looking for one for quite some time. however, i could never find one except for the brown ones with barely pink edges :(
but now i cant have one cause i have too much lr and frags in my reef to fit on. lol

Yeh it does look orange in that pic...depending on where you move it it changes colors..even without the actinics i can get it under the lights and it looks pink but i only have two hands and cant hold the camera the coral and the lights to move them back all at the same time :jumping:

i have an awesome pink plate.. ( as least i think so) pictures are when i just got it in my tank,, its alot more vivid now!
