Welcome to the board! :cheer:
The anemone will roam around until it finds the right current and lighting that it likes. No telling how long that will take though. What kind and how many watts of lighting do you have?

Not sure of the watts, but it was up on the top of the live rock at first and now has moved down to the bottom of the piece it was on. I will have to check the wattage. Seems like it is moving to another piece of lr (different kind) in a not so light area.????

Ouch, I willing to bet right now that the lights came with the tank and are normal output lights, not enough to keep an anemone alive I'll bet.
Tell me what the bulbs read, what is the writing on the bulbs or old package that they came in.
Are the lights in a plastic housing?

Ya, I'm willing to bet my paycheck that you do not have the right lights. Well, my paycheck actually isn't very big anyways. LOL. Better do your research before buying a new animal for your tank, not after.

Sound like NO lights to me, never heard of 50 watt PC lights. Are you willing to spend money to upgrade the lights? Any spending limit?

50 watts? hmmm. Standard 48 inch flouresent lights are usually 40 watts per bulb. I tried 80 watts normal lighting way back when and almost killed my BTA with them. It wasn't until I added 380 watts of VHO lighting that it swelled up looked alive and spit into two with more to follow.
If you truley only have 100 watts of normal lighting then its not enough. You will need VHO or PC lighting or even metal hallide
OK pink tip haitian anemones need a good amount of light.
If it were me I would look into a 440 watt VHO kit online for the best deal or a VHO/MH combo with at least 2 - 175 mh bulbs and 2 actinic bulbs.
With anemones more lighing is usually better, but I would think you could get away with the 440 watt VHO kit for about $275 give or take a few bucks.

The length and width of the tank as well as how high it can climb. The whole thing.
As to when it will stop? when if finds a place that it likes, if it doesn't find it then it could just keep wandering. Thats as straight an answer as I can give you.

Well to answer your question, prob. until it dies........
Anemone's are photosynthic, they need lots of light just to survive at all. The only lights recomended on this board for these animals are Metal Halides. I am sure they are more expensive then you want to go, should have done your home work on Anemone's to find out exactly what they need. It will live for a while without Metal Halides, but the time it takes it to die, it will be suffering, lack of lighting.........Thats it no if, ands , or buts about it.......You have to have the best lighting, and very very good water quality to keep them alive, and happy. I know its not what you want to hear, but I am sure someone else with more expertise on the subject will chime in..........sorry.......home work comes first......
P.S. I am not trying to
you, just trying to help....... I just know I would not want to keep one without the best for it......even if they can live under other lighting than MH.........HTH
