Pink tip (condi) anemone hiding under rock?

I put a nice pink tip anemone in my tank about 5 days ago. I put it on a rock that gets good light and decent current. The guy has almost totally gone under a rock. Is this normal or should I be concerned? What ever should I do?
Thanks

I have had very bad luck with these. Mine kept moving around the tank and would not hold still. I left out of town for a couple of days and he has put himself in a dark corner and died. Hope you have better luck!

I bought one about 3 or 4 weeks ago, and it did the same thing. I have about 6 watts per gallon and I put it in the sand near the live rock, and it settled under the rock in a cave and only extends its tentacles out into the light occasionally. Mine seems to be doing fine though, so I think once yours finds a shady spot it likes it will be fine. :D

mine kept moving around the tank. it went from high to low to high again. weird. seems to be doing fine though. <img src="graemlins//angel.gif" border="0" alt="[angel]" />

Mine did much the same thing....i put him in a crevice between two rocks....he eventually stuck onto the underside of the top rock just inside where they meet. He usually stays under the rock, but from around 2pm until 10pm he is stretched out waving around the tank....the little bugger got a hold of my small cowfish last week and made short work of him.

I have two condys. They were fine out in the open until I upgraded my lights...now they have sought shadier spots. I threw one away that I thought was dead, he shrunk up to the size of a 25 cent gumball with tentacles all limp, I was afraid he would poison my tank so I flushed him. Well he indeed was not dead, and yes I feel bad. That has been my only stupid mistake so far. Mine ate a few damsels before I started feeding them cocktail shrimp. I feed two small pieces of cocktail shrimp every other day and they leave my fish alone. They are interesting inhabitants of my tank, fun to watch, not real hard to keep happy. HTH
