is it normal for a pink tipped anemone to shrivel up at night??
it does seem to recover once the lights are back on,,
I have had it two weeks,, and it has only eaten once.
I have it in a 24g nano cube with a maroon clown.
thanks in advance for any help!!

Mine just started doing the exact same thing. He didnt do it though until he got about 6 inches closer to the light. He has been doing it for the last week and once the light is on he appears fine. As far as eating goes mine eats just fine though I think I may have been over feeding him. Im only doing it every 3 days now. Also how are you feeding yours? I take the frozen krill cube and let it sit in the water for a few and then I just place it on the tentacles and he will pull it right in. Has your clown developed a relationship with your anemonie? My percula only steals bits of food from mine. If you have any other information please share.

I feed freeze dried shrimp ,, and I have to hold it right at it's mouth for a while.my clown has a good relationship with it, but gets very worried when it shrinks.

My pink tip also does that alot..I asked the pet store about it and they said leave the tank lights on untill i go to bed then shut them off gradually (turn off the tank but leave the room light on for a few minutes)then in the morning up the blindes so the room fills with light untill its about 5 hours till bed time the turn the tank on again.
--tank light goes on at 3:30 till 9:30
--room light stays on form about 5 minutes more
--all lights are out about 9:35-10
--blindes open at about 6:30 until 3:30 again
(He also said as long as it grabing food with its tentical when you feed it then its a good sign of health)

Mine seems to enjoy the krill, I just got a brine hatchery so Ill see how he likes that also though Im not even sure if Im supposed to feed them that. My Perc wants not a damn thing to do with this anemonie. I might remove one of them or get another anemonie. I posted a new thread in the nano section looking for suggestions so we will see. Strangely enough my anemonie didnt get all flacid and shrivled last night and the light was off for longer than normal. I wonder if it has something to do with water temp or something. Are you guys using heaters?

hehehe I just left my local LFS and they said the same thing. Also most of the FAQs that I have read say that. Im sure your safe with a 2 degree variant. "The wild is not perfect".
