pinpiont salinity monitor....

has anyone ever used the pinpoint salinity monitor....was thinking about purchasing instead of refractometer....im so sick of my hydrometer.........:mad:

Never used one but I have a refractometer. I threw away my hydro as soon as I saw the difference. It only takes a few seconds to get a reading. Just my 2 cents worth.

I have the pinpoint, and I am actually getting a refrac today, I will see what they difference is, and let you know. I just started my tank up this past weekend, :D

yes here are some pics, I started the tank on saturday filled iot up with about 45 - 50 lbs of sand, 70 lbs live rock, and 2 raw shrimp. and let it ride.. :D

mine has been up 4 a month.....cycled it with 3 damsils....added a firefish goby last week...also have cc starfish.......did u get the refrac today????

that is a nice tank... how is your sump hooked up...im adding 25 more # of LR later this week......

I'm curious too on how you hooked up your return. Is it all done like a large switcher used in a closed loop system? a SCWD? Or is it a spraybar with multiple outlets...

Cool tank pics I would go with a refracto you can find them pretty cheap and there very reliable. Here is my tank. It has been going for a month also. This is an old shot it is along ways from there now.

I love mine...Wanna know the salinity...turn it on...done..Or just leave it on...

yes, I like how easy the pinpoint is as well, I just want to get a refractometer to make sure it is accurate.. :D can never be too safe.
Hydro I have a 30 gallon sump/refugium with a rio 14 HF pump that returns the water, plus I have a velocity T4 pump hooked up to an OM squirt for my closed loop system. when I get home tonight I will snap a few pics and post them.
