im not really sure of their eating habits or anything, that would probably be best answered by clown, seeing as that he has actually owned one. ive heard that a lot of the stuff that people say about piranas arent true, but im not 100%. i also think theyre illegal in michigan, i heard on the news a couple years ago thatsomebody actually caught one in a lake. i think they mentioned it being illegal there

I had one many years ago and it was far from a voracious eater. Hard to get it to eat at all.
I think most people expect to be able to through in a drumstick or something and see it cleaned in less than 5 seconds. That 'feeding frenzy' I think is only seen in very large groups.

Yep, have to be kept in a group to see frenzie eating. They can get quite large too and really aren't a pretty fish. Just my 2 cents...

Maybe the size depends on where they come from. I am going by what I saw on the Discovery Channel and I remember saying how much bigger they were than I expected them to be. They were red in color also.

i had four in a 55... they eat live gold fish, they get ugly looking when they are older, nothing great at all, a puffer is 10* better in my opinion
