While it's not "normal", they will regro their claws over time.

My pistol never lost his claws during a molt. But my CBS did and they just grew back next molt.

Iodine is a good thing for inverts

maybe thats why it molted with one less claw? insufficient iodine levels?

it is a good thing for inverts, BUT most iodine levels should be maintained with regular water changes. just remember, if you cannot test for something, don't dose it.
