placeing bulkheads?

What is the recommended safe distance from the edges of the glass for drilling holes. I'm placeing 2 1" BH for returns and would like to place them as close as I can to the top and sides. I have heard 1x the hole size and 1.5x the holes from edges.
Can anyone confirm? :thinking:

Don't know for sure, but I don't think I'd try any closer than 1.5 from the top or edge of the glass
