Placement of powerheads

I keep hearing that I need lots of powerheads in my 137 gallon tank. I was wondering how everyone arranges them? The little suction cups that come on the ones I've had never work very long. Can we just tuck them in the rocks? What does everyone else do?

What type of powerheads do you have? I know of some people who do place them among the rock. I had to put diffrent suction cups on one of my powerheads to get it to stick.

try cleaning the spot on the aquarium just prior to putting the suction cup down on the surface. This seems to help keep mine in place. If I don't do this the cups loose suction in about 1/2 hour or so, but seem to stay on the freshly cleaned surface without any problem. Even if you don't see any algea buildup it is still there and reducing the ability of the cup to hold onto the tank wall.
