placing an order with saltwaterfish

I am placing my first order with saltwaterfish.com but I need some advise on the shipping. I work M-F 8-5 like the most of us so I believe the saturday option is best for me. But I want my order sooner. Will fed ex leave the package at the door? Is this not recommended? I could not find a 800 number for saltwaterfish so I thought I would ask here. What do yall do? Just wondering. Thanks in advance for the replys.

Maybe you have a neighbor that you can have it left with? You can sign a paper so that fedEx has your signiture. Leave it with the neighbor to give to them. Just a thought

Just have it deliverd to work. Thats what I do. The inverts and fish will be fine in the bags as long as the temp stays steady and normal. You could also request extra water in bag(don't know if they can do that or not due to weight) with the fish.

a few extra bucks fedEx will deliever by 8:30,so just be
a little late one day and do it this way!

lunch hour,if not then i would say you will be waiting
until saturday.

Tough job. I would recommend the Satuday delivery. I ordered from here and told them that I did not want to sign for the package. Thinking Fed Ex would leave it on the porch. Since I am in Southern California temp is not a problem. Plus I get home at noon so time would be on my side as well. However they did not have everything is stock so it took a couple of days to fill the order. In that time my request for not having to sign for the package got lost in the paperwork. Fortunately the Fed ex driver was still in the area and I got the order. Little bit of panic time though. Fed ex said I could pick up the package at the warehouse after 6:30 in their warehouse on the outskirts of LA. The dilemma was do I go get the package and fight the awful traffic or hope they would make it a second day. Fortunately I did not have to make that decision.
Everything is cool and everything lived. I would definitely order from here again.

I recently placed an order through swf and was not home when the fish were delivered. When I ordered though I put that if I wasn't home to leave them at my parents house and they were. My advice is if you haven't placed your order yet to put as a comment that if you aren't home then to leave them at... and put the address where they are to be left.

If you don't sign for it and request that it be left at the door then you will lose your warranty So Sat. delivery would probably be best for you.

you can put that it be left at your neighbors and they can sign for it. trust me i know from experience. i just had it done and i didn't lose my warranty.

Just a thought: I am very impatient so I wouldn't want to wait for a Sat. deliv. either. BUT-I also want to get the pkg and open it immediately and dive right in, so even though Sat would be a longer wait, it would mean much more gratification to sign for it and be the first person that could see it! And it would be less stressful to know that you were going to be there instead of at work not concentrating on work anyway worried about the shippment. Good luck!
