Placing Powerheads

What's the best spot in a tank to place powerheads? Right now I have 2 Maxi Jet 600s placed at both ends of my tank pointing directly at each other. Is there a better way to place them?

I have one in the middle and on at one end, my filter is on the other end...I have the one on the end pointed towards the center of the tank, about 1/5 of the way in the water, the one in the middle is about 1/3 the way in the water. not sure if this is the best, but it works for me.
