Hey everyone,
Its been a while since Ive been on here but Im wanting to get back into the hobby. I purchased:
3g Picotope w/9w 50/50 (upgrade expected)
Aquaclear 70 (refugium)
Theo 50w heater
Pico Evo 180 powerhead
Planning 6lbs LR (Marshall Island)
Planning 5-6lbs LS
Digital thermometer and in tank theromometer
Logol's solution
Still need Test Kit, salt mix, refractometer, puddy, upgraded lighting, RO/DI unit.
My question.. is a blenny or firefish too big for a 3g? I had planned on a yellow clown goby and a few shrimp/snails/crabs but wanted to explore my options.
Thanks
Dan

I could see a small blenny such as a tail spot or a two spot. They are algae eaters, so just watch how many algae eaters you have in your clean up crew so you don't have too many competitors for the same food source.
I'm not sure if a firefish would work, they're shy, skiddish fish and a 3G might not offer enough hiding spaces. They're also swimmers, which would be limited.
Try looking at the red striped and red spotted gobies, they stay very small and work great in the pico tanks. Honestly, they're really only suited for pico tanks, they get lost/sucked through filters/etc in larger setups.
Welcome back to the addiction, I mean hobby!

Ok, this is a list I have come up with as possibilities:
Yellow Clown Goby
Catalina Goby
Red Striped Goby
Red Spotted Goby
Court Jester/Rainford's Goby
Tail Spot Blenny
Two Spot Blenny

IMO the green banded goby would be a wonderful fish here.

Elacatinus multifasciatum
2" maximum size.
