You really wouldn't see tangs in a lagoon with viewing from above. They are displayed much better in a tank.

Wow look what happens when I take a few days off. lagoons and self flamming.
I agree with the wobbie and lions.
Just an idea for you to think about. I would keep the power heads and returns lower in the laggon so as to keep the water surface calmer. make the fish easier to see.

This is an excellent point.
Any thoughts on the cycling issue

Cycling issue - My guess is that if one were to have enough volume / live rock / and live sand in a large lagoon, one would theoretically have enough bacteria in the LR & LS to support a minimal bio load. My guess, and you probably already know this, is that any animal that is a "messy" animal in terms of the bio load, would exceed the minimum. If it were me I would at least do a 6 week cycle to extablish the lagoon. Probably the ratio of volume to animal needed to avoid cycling would require a monsterous (public) aquarium, not to mention the necessary bacteria source needed (LS,LR, etc.).
Just a theory, though.
